In the most recent survey, it showed that the United States has the most expensive yet the least efficient health system compared with 10 other countries in the West.
This is not the first time that the United States got a very poor rating when it comes to the quality of the health care system. It has been in this position for the past 10 years. Things are getting worse when they open up about the issue of the expenses.
They have spent $8,508 per capita. Meanwhile, Norway only spent $5,669. Yet, the quality still does not favor the United States. They will need more polishing to do with the urgent care clinics and the hospitals.
Huge Numbers But Not Happy Patients
It turned out that the United States also has the highest proportion for its patient to specialists. However, when asked, the patients would still say that they felt that there is something lacking in the health system.
However, the survey was done when the Affordable Care Act or the Obamacare was not yet released. There could be a significant change in the rankings if this was accounted. Either way, the United States is still performing low when it comes to a lot of aspects.
They will need more than the Obamacare, though. Experts suggest that the accountability of the government in this issue could play an important role. It is accepting the responsibility to match the expectations of the public when it comes to urgent care.
The United Kingdom as the Top Performer
The United Kingdom is ranked as the first among the 11 countries that made it in the list. They are only spending $3405 per person, yet the quality of the health system has never been questionable.
They have addressed their problems in the past few years and emerged as the top country when it comes to providing urgent care near me. Also, they never stopped improving since then. They have acquired more doctors, too. Also, they are not afraid to give extra services for those who need it. Even an urgent care clinic will get the budget for it to completely execute the medical procedures.
The Obamacare could be a one good shot for the health system in the US to boost. However, they will need more inputs from other departments. The problem has already gone pervasive. Where do you think should they focus more?
