Music for Pregnancy Is Proven to Increase Stimulus for Women

New study shows that music for pregnancy can create a better reaction time for the mothers who are expecting a baby.

It is all set and clear that music is not just for those who want to hear quality sound with lyrics. The Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, an institute in Germany, set-up their studies for pregnant women who are listening to the music they like and do not like.

They also worked on women who are not pregnant in their set-up. They found out that the blood pressure changes whenever they listen, whether it is pleasant or not.

More on the Results of the Study

The researchers have run clips that last 10 to 30 seconds to both of their set-ups. There is not much of a difference when they played it on single women. However, expectant mothers showed a different result. They say that women are more reactive when they are working with music for pregnancy. They say that music can be a huge factor why there are more stimuli in pregnant women than those who are not.

They have not found the sole reason why this is so. However, the estrogen level of expectant mothers plays a huge factor in it. It could be under the reward system. It sends out a message to the brain that says that music could really be helpful in their stimulus.

Bodily changes are triggered when pregnant women are listening to music. The study has not told much about this. It could be a pretty interesting matter to think of, especially for those who are planning to have a family.

Music Is Not Really a Stress Factor

Music for Pregnancy Is Proven to Increase Stimulus for WomenContrary to the popular belief, music for pregnancy, pleasant or not, is not a factor to induce stress. It is just that women are more reactive when they listen to music. It is not the cause. Anything could be a source of stress for women.

Moreover, the child inside the pregnant woman’s body can adapt to the music. The study says that it is healthier for the body whenever their mom listens to music. More studies show that the unborn is able to recognize the music. This could be a pretty good step for those who want their children to grow as rock stars.
