Bluffton, South Carolina – Doctor Bill Sears, a famous pediatrician and parenting philosopher will speak, not only about children’s health, but also share health tips for all ages. Sears’ talk is scheduled on October 2, from 7PM to 8PM at the famous Hampton Hall clubhouse.
The talk will serve as an urgent care clinic for those who will participate. The famous pediatrician said he will share health tips for all ages regarding on how people can make their own internal medicine. Sears emphasized that the human body is a “giant walking pharmacy”. It will be his wife Martha’s and his first trip to Bluffton since they left in the 1980s. At that time, Sears was the Hilton Head Island primary pediatrician, known for his willingness to treat children and his compassionate care for them.
Both Bill and Martha were known in the area as they advocated for the obstetrics unit addition to the hospital, taught Lamaze birthing classes, and participated in breastfeeding promotions. They likewise participated in the breastfeeding support group, which was a significant activity in La Leche League International. The couple also wrote their first book entitled “Creative Parenting”, while they were in the area.
The family used to provide urgent care towards the children and focused solely on parenting issues. However, after Bill fought colon cancer in 1997, Bill realized he wanted to devote his time and energy towards teaching and learning health and nutrition. Bills’ 43 latest books focus on such topics. Bill also pointed out that his cancer battle taught him the ability of the body to heal by itself, as long as it’s taken care of. His mission is to share health tips for all ages and educate families about nutrition.
Doctor Sears said his talk will be full of practical and humorous take-home tips. The event will be presented by a fruit and vegetable supplement firm called the Juice Plus, wherein Sears is also a member of the firm’s medical advisory board.
Although the professionals’ trip will for a short time period, they are expecting to see changes in the Lowcountry. The couples also said the area became a big part of their lives, as Bill grew up there.
