CMH Case Manager Chad Gregory Earnest Charged with Sexual Conduct

Muskegon, Mi – Chad Gregory Earnest, a Community Mental Health (CMH) case manager in Muskegon Country has been alleged of criminal sexual contact with his mental health client.

The 35-year old case manager was accused of the crime on October 29 for 4th degree criminal sexual conduct which is a high-court order offense. If proven guilty, he may have to spend a maximum of two years behind bars. For the benefit of the public who’s not familiar with the term, fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct means that the there’s sexual touching involved.

Earnest was charged under the law which makes it a crime for a professional in mental health to have a sexual conduct with a client who needs urgent care as stated by chief assistant prosecutor of Muskegon Country, Timothy Maat. He added that it doesn’t have to be established that the alleged party consents the act but it focuses on whether there’s a client/professional relationship that exists  or not.

In the criminal sexual conduct charge against case manager Chad Gregory Earnest, the alleged victim is an adult woman who’s looking for an urgent care near me and has been his client for more than a year already.

CMH Case Manager Chad Gregory Earnest Charged with Sexual ConductThe report of Muskegon Police Department says that Earnest pick up the woman in his car about two weeks ago and drove her around making sexual statements to her. This was when the sexual contact occurred according to the assistant prosecutor Maat.

Chad Gregory Earnest picked the woman up again on October 24 and the two had sexual contact for the second time according to the allegation. The counselor of the adult woman had alerted the Muskegon Police about this demeanor of the case manager outside the urgent care clinics.

Matthew Kacel, Earnest’s attorney, said on Wednesday that he is going over the facts and the police reports as well. He said that he’s aware that Earnest is a well-respected, famous local mental health community member.

At the arraignment of Earnest, a $10,000 cash or surety bond was set by Judge Harold F. Closz III of the 60th District of Muskegon Country. The conditions include that Earnest would no longer have any contact with the alleged victim while the case is still in court. He is also not permitted to have a contact with any female client of the urgent care clinic.
