Colstrip, Montana – Mental health first aid training is set in Colstrip because health officials claimed one out of five American youths experience mental health problems like anxiety, depression, psychosis, and substance abuse every year.
Health care facilities, hospitals, and even urgent care clinics deal with massive patients every single day. Patients suffer from different conditions from physiological to emotional, behavioral, and mental issues. They tend to visit an urgent care clinic for specific medication and treatment.
Among the relative number of patients include American youths who deal with mental and behavioral conditions. Thus, the Youth Dynamics is sponsoring a Mental Health First Aid training program to help deal with the increasing cases. The training course is scheduled from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon at Isabel Bills Community Learning Center’s multipurpose room.
The training program aims to help people, especially the youth who are experiencing mental health challenges or crises in their lives. The program will include training on first aid as well as CPR. The scheduled program is also expected to draw attendees not only from Colstrip, but also from nearby locations like Lame Deer, Forsyth, and other surrounding communities.
Youth Dynamics has been providing urgent care, treatment, and support to Montana youth who were diagnosed with mental health issues and emotional disturbance. In most cases, they support those who survived from child abuse and trauma.
As a unique organization, Youth Dynamics also provide wide varieties of care, which include several treatment options. They support the youth with their mentoring expertise as well as intensive-level therapeutic group homes. The organization has 18 centers across the state.

For 32 years, the organization has been providing service to at-risk youth and their families. The upcoming mental health first aid training is expected to increase the 1,450 youth already accessing Youth Dynamics services.
