Tallahassee, Florida – As further evidence of local health services expansion, major health care providers joined in new facility developments and constructions.
The newest urgent care clinic project being developed was the Tallahassee Outpatient Clinic, intended specifically for the Veterans Administration. It is located east of Blair Stone Road, sitting on 31.57 acres of land on Orange Avenue.
Costing $55 million, the project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2016. This facility will provide wide ranges of health services such as ancillary, nursing, psychiatric, surgical, medical, and dental services. However, outpatient surgery will be unavailable. Patients who will need more intensive procedures will be assessed, stabilized, and then transferred to a local facility or the Gainesville VA Medical Center, depending on the level of urgent care that they need.
Moreover, the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) has been designing its Surgery and Adult ICU this year as part of their health services expansion project, measuring approximately 290, 000 square feet. It will stand south of the TMH campus, corner of Medical Drive and Miccosukee Road.
The project is expected to cost $170 million, including the surgical center. It will have 20 initial operating rooms plus a shell space for additional 12 to 16 rooms. The existing intensive care units for adults will be moved to this health services expansion facility. It will have 48 initial ICU rooms plus a shell space for additional 24 rooms.
Meanwhile, the Capital Regional Medical Center has been expanding their facilities on a 4.7-acre site, located at Capital Circle Northeast. The Phase 1 of the project will provide 107 parking spots, while the Phase 2 will serve as an outpatient health complex.
Also, the Capital Regional Cardiology Associates has already expanded its cardiology practice towards 7 cardiologists. The Capital Regional Medical Associations have additional services, including obstetrics, podiatry, cardiology, and surgery. Patients needing more intensive care now have a sort of urgent care near me facility, considering these expansions.
The TMH is considered as the 25th hospital to receive a full Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Certification on a national perspective, reflecting its expertise and protocol-driven approach in treating patients with AFib. The facility has also opened the very first clinic in the region that is dedicated in diagnosing and treating the said condition.
The additional urgent care clinics and other facility developments will surely improve the entire community as patients will have more options in obtaining much-needed health care services through the health services expansion projects.
