Life-threatening Allergic Reactions
The United States’ Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warn the public of the dangers posed by acne products on the market. Over-the-counter (OTC) facial wash, lotion, pimple treatment, and cream products can result to life-threatening allergic reactions, said FDA officials. Products for acne medication purchased from drug stores and other urgent care clinics may contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. The FDA warns the consumers as these substances have been correlated with hypersensitivity reactions like swollen face, lips, eyes, and tongue. These substances from dangerous acne products may also cause breathing difficulties, throat tightness, and feelings of faintness.
Increasing Reports
Consumers are recommended to stop usage of a certain product if they develop the mentioned symptoms, including itching and hives.
